No matter if you’ve had to bear the embarrassment of a ‘swing and a miss’ or if you know the terrain of your local golf course by heart, National Golf Month is happening this August! There’s no better way to celebrate golf than to play, but with social distance guidelines still in effect all over the country, here are all the ways you can experience the thrill of scoring a hole in one.
Spend the day streaming
Golf tournaments are back in action with the PGA tour this summer. Broadcasting these events on television can be quite soothing and you find yourself cheering on your favorite player in no time! Can’t really catch on to the golf terminology? There’s no excuse to not know a little bit of lingo here and there!
At-home putting kits
Need some practice puts in the comfort of your own home? There are many mats available, including the SKLZ Accelerator Pro Indoor Putting Green that has set “train tracks” stretched from beginning to end to help provide guidance.
Teach your kids to play
With many summer camps canceled or limited spaces available, it can be difficult to find new ways to keep young children entertained. There are many inexpensive sets for children to get their hands onto something new. Make sure to teach them the golf lingo of the word “fore” … it may come in handy the first couple of swings!
Considered golf’s laid-back alter ego, disc golf is quite easy to learn. Many community parks offer enough space for this course among greenery and the comfort of shaded trees.
Put your video gaming skills to the test
Adding golf to your video game console can be beneficial – rain or shine! There are some realistic golfing experiences (The Golf Club 2 or John Daly’s ProStroke Golf) or games with more of an arcade feel (Tiger Woods PGA Tour).
Whether you’re up to watch the first tee time soon after sunrise or watching the sun set over the 18th hole, there are always new ways to enjoy your new pastime this National Golf Month. Need help finding the perfect way to celebrate? Check out the Luv Your Life App!
