With live events canceled or postponed all over the world, including concerts, the music industry and its artists are finding ways to continuously bring the entertainment to the safety of people’s homes. Music fans create a sense of community that is instilled and experienced at live concerts and festivals when they show up to support their favorite artist/band. With the postponement and cancellation of these events, music fans are in dire need of this sense of belonging more than ever. Have no fear! Live streamed concerts are here.
From orchestras and operas to your favorite artists featured on festival lineups, there are livestream options for all.
For music lovers in Chicago, and perhaps all over, the cancellation of Lollapalooza was the greatest disappointment. Although no tickets were sold and no lineup was announced, over 100,000 people were expected to be in attendance each of the four days throughout the weekend. While it is difficult to imagine a summer without Grant Park festivities, make sure to mark your calendars for July 30 – August 2, 2020 as Lollapalooza will attempt to uphold its tradition by offering a weekend long livestream event as well as featuring other archived performances.
U.K. music festival, Wireless, has been called off earlier this month but will instead host Wireless Connect this 4th of July weekend (July 3 – 5, 2020) that will feature pre-recorded performances from some of the “biggest UK and US artists”. Wireless Connect will be streamed for free, but donations to the Black Lives Matter movement and Crowdfunder are encouraged.
